Yes! We are an all-breed rescue but keep in mind this is a senior, special needs, and hospice dog rescue.
Since February 2021; right in the middle of the global pandemic!
We are based in Houston, TX.
Dogs, like people may not be the biggest fan of their own kind; we understand. It really just depends on whether or not we have an available foster with no other dogs in the home.
We are a foster based organization and do not have a facility.
No, we are entirely run on donations and money from our own pockets.
Simple answer, no. We do not board our dog's unless for emergencies. We do not take in dog's knowing they will have to just go into a boarding facility for an undetermined length of time. Our dog's are placed in foster care, in a home with people who will care for and love them.
While we completely understand just how difficult it is to rehome a best friend, we do not give updates once a pet has been transferred into our care. However, rest assured, they become family from the moment they come to us, and we do everything we can to ensure they remain happy and well cared for the remainder of their lives.
Thank you so much for wanting to help, it means a lot! I always say our biggest expense is vet care. This includes medications, supplements, prescription diets, therapies, and whatever else is needed when caring for our types of rescues. Good for you for rescuing a dog off the streets! What to do now. First thing should be trying to locate an owner. The dog, despite condition may have a chip which can be checked at any vet office or even some pet stores. Signs should also be made stating that you have found a dog. There are also lost and found groups for missing and found pets that we highly recommend using which can be found on apps such as Nextdoor, Facebook or through a Google search. Notifying your local animal shelters of the found dog can also be helpful. Give it time, as much as you can to try and locate an owner. If no owner can be located or is found but is refusing to take their dog back, try to proceed with rehoming.
